Reserve with Google

'Book a table'. The button worth a full house.

With Reserve with Google, customers book straight from your Google Business Profile and on Maps, at the exact moment they find you. No extra steps, no commission. Restomatix is an official partner: we set it up for you.

What is Reserve with Google?

Reserve with Google is the feature that adds the 'Book a table' button to a restaurant's Google Business Profile, on search and on Maps. The customer chooses date, time and covers and books without leaving Google: the booking arrives directly in the venue's management system, through a booking partner authorised by Google.

The decisive point is where that button sits: at the moment of choice. The person has just searched 'restaurant' in your area, they're looking at your profile, the photos, the reviews. It's the peak of intent, and instead of having to hunt for the phone or the website, they book right there, in twenty seconds.

For the venue it means one thing only: fewer steps between 'that appeals to me' and the confirmed table. And every step removed means more bookings.

The benefits

What changes for your restaurant

Bookings at the moment of decision

Most bookings start from a search on Google or Maps. With the button active you catch the customer at the peak of their interest, before they compare three other venues or put it off. Even outside opening hours: the profile books for you at 23:30, when the phone doesn't answer.

Zero commission, the customer is yours

Bookings from Reserve with Google arrive in your management system just like the ones from your website: no per-cover commission, and the customer's details (name, contact, history) enter your database, not a portal's. It's direct booking to all intents and purposes.

A profile that sells more

The button makes the profile more useful and more clicked, and for local ranking every interaction signal counts. Reserve with Google is the natural completion of a well-kept profile: first they find you, then, with no friction, they book.

How do you activate Reserve with Google in Italy?

Reserve with Google can't be switched on by yourself from the profile: you need a booking partner authorised by Google, who connects their own booking system to the venue's profile. Restomatix is an official partner: we activate the button by linking your Google Business Profile to our bookings module, usually within a few days.

1

We check your Google Business Profile

It must be verified and with the correct details. If it isn't, we sort it out: it's the prerequisite.

2

We configure the bookings module

The venue's real sittings, tables and availability, so Google only shows times that are genuinely bookable.

3

We connect the two worlds

The button appears on the profile and every booking enters your floor plan in real time.

In the venues that have activated it

When the profile is well kept and the button is active, a significant share of online bookings stops going through the phone or the portals and arrives direct from Google, with no commission.

Frequently asked questions about Reserve with Google

Is Reserve with Google free?

Google charges nothing, neither the customer nor the restaurant. You do need an authorised booking partner, though: with Restomatix it's included in the bookings module subscription, always with no per-cover commission.

Can I activate it if I already use TheFork or Quandoo?

Yes, but be careful: if the button is linked to a portal, the 'direct' bookings from Google become the portal's bookings, with the related commissions and the customer's data going to them. Linking it to your own system, like Restomatix, makes them genuinely direct.

How long does it take to set up?

With the Google Business Profile in order, a few working days. If the profile isn't verified or has inconsistent details, we sort that out first, which is always worth doing anyway.

Does the button appear on Google Maps too?

Yes: 'Book a table' appears both on the profile in the search results and on Maps, on mobile and on desktop. And it's the path used by tourists and new customers, the ones who don't have your number saved.

What happens when a booking comes in?

It enters the floor plan of the Manage module in real time, with an automatic confirmation to the customer by email or SMS. The availability shown on Google updates on its own: no overbooking.

Does it work for bars, pizzerias and farm stays too?

Yes: Reserve with Google works for any hospitality business with bookable seating. We activate it for restaurants, pizzerias, farm stays and accommodation with a restaurant.

Your competitors' button could be yours.

Search for your venue on Google: if 'Book a table' isn't there, every day a few customers stop one step short of the table. We'll set it up for you.
