Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about Restomatix

Restomatix is Dineout's operating system for restaurants: direct bookings with no per-cover commission, more visibility on Google, Maps and AI searches, and management of reviews and reputation. Here you'll find answers to the most common questions about how it works, what it costs and how to get started.

Bookings and commission

What does "bookings with no per-cover commission" mean?

With Restomatix you receive bookings from your website and your Google Business Profile without paying a commission for every cover, as happens instead on many portals. You pay a subscription for the software, not a percentage on the customers you bring in yourself. The bookings you generate stay yours.

Do customers book from my website or from an external portal?

Directly from your own channels: your website, your Google Business Profile and Maps, the links you share on social media. The customer always stays within your world, not on a shopfront shared with other restaurants. This way you build a database of contacts that is yours, not the portal's.

Does Restomatix replace my booking management system?

Yes. Restomatix manages your diary, floors and tables, opening hours and shifts, automatic confirmations and reminders, waiting lists and no-shows. You can use it as your single booking system, or run it alongside the tools you already use during the migration phase.

What happens to bookings when the restaurant is fully booked?

You set the capacity for each time slot and each floor. When a shift is full, the system suggests alternative times or a place on the waiting list, so you don't lose the customer. You can set different rules for particular days, events or special evenings.

Can I reduce no-shows?

Yes. Automatic reminders, confirmations requested from the customer and, where needed, asking for a valid contact reduce no-shows. For events or groups you can add a stronger confirmation. The aim is to have tables that are confirmed, not just booked.

How it works and getting started

How long does it take to get Restomatix up and running?

Usually a few days. We set up your diary, floors and hours, connect your Google Business Profile and your website, and import your existing data. Timings depend on how many channels you connect and how complex your setup is: we confirm them after the demo.

Do I have to change my website?

Not necessarily. We can integrate booking into the website you already have, or build a new one optimised to help you get found and get booked. In both cases the booking engine and your presence on Google stay connected.

Do I need technical skills to use it?

No. The interface is designed for people working on the floor, not for IT specialists. We train you at the start and you stay supported afterwards. Everyday tasks, managing the diary, moving a table, replying to a review, take just a few clicks.

Does it also work on smartphones and tablets?

Yes. Restomatix works in the browser on computers, tablets and smartphones: you manage the diary from the station on the floor or from your phone while you're out. Changes update in real time across all connected devices.

Can staff have different levels of access?

Yes. You can give your team access with different permissions: someone who manages only the diary, someone who replies to reviews, someone who sees the data. This way everyone works on their own part without touching the general settings.

Data migration

Can I migrate bookings and customers from my current system?

Yes, and we take care of it. We move your diary, customer records and history from the tools you use today, without interrupting service. The aim is to switch to Restomatix without losing any bookings or data.

Will I lose my customer history?

No. Your history and customer records are imported, so you keep a record of who has already booked, their preferences and their contact details. It is precisely this database, which with portals stays with the portal, that becomes yours with Restomatix.

Does the migration interrupt service?

No. We plan the switch so that the restaurant keeps receiving bookings during the transition. We agree timings and arrangements with you to avoid any interruption during peak times.

Which tools can I migrate from?

From the main booking management systems and the portals you use today, as far as is technically possible. In the demo we check your specific situation and tell you clearly what we can import and how.

Pricing and contract

How much does Restomatix cost?

Restomatix runs on a subscription for the software, not on a per-cover commission. The price depends on the modules you activate and the size of the restaurant. We prepare a clear quote after the demo, with no hidden costs.

Is there a commission on bookings?

No, we don't charge a commission on covers that book from your channels. This is the main difference from portals: you pay for the software, not for every single customer you bring in yourself.

Is there a minimum contract term?

We present the contract terms to you transparently before you start, including duration and arrangements. We prefer customers who are convinced by the results: you see the details in black and white when you get started, with no surprises.

Can I start with a few modules and add more later?

Yes. You can start with direct booking and later add visibility on Google, review management, events or other modules. The system grows with you, without having to redo everything from scratch.

Visibility, Google and AI

Does Restomatix help me get found on Google?

Yes. We look after your presence on Google and Maps and booking directly from the search results, so anyone looking for a restaurant in your area finds you and books straight away. It is a central part of the system, not an extra.

What is "Reserve with Google"?

It is the ability to book a table directly from the restaurant's profile on Google and Maps, without going through a portal. Restomatix manages this presence and links the booking to your diary.

What does being "AI-friendly" mean?

It means your restaurant's information, hours, menu, how to book, is structured so it can be read and cited correctly by search engines and AI assistants. So, when someone asks an AI for a recommendation, your restaurant can appear with the correct details.

Do you handle social media too, or only Google?

The heart of the system is direct booking and your presence on Google and Maps. We can connect your booking links to your social media and campaigns, so every channel leads to booking through your own tools. We go over the details together based on the modules you activate.

Reviews and reputation

Does Restomatix manage reviews?

Yes. We gather your reviews in one place and help you reply promptly and professionally. Managing reviews consistently improves your reputation and local ranking over time.

Can you remove negative reviews?

No, and be wary of anyone who promises it. We can help you reply well and report fake or defamatory reviews to Google, which under the platform's rules can be challenged. Removal is always decided by Google, not by us.

Do you offer customers incentives to leave reviews?

No. Incentivising reviews breaches Google's rules and puts your profile at risk. Instead, we work to ask for feedback at the right moment, in a natural and compliant way, so positive reviews come on their own.

How do you reply to a negative review?

Never in the heat of the moment and never defensively: you thank them, apologise for the experience, give context in one line and take the conversation private. The reply isn't for the person who wrote it, but for the people who will read it. We help you do it well.

Technical, integrations and support

Does Restomatix integrate with the tools I already use?

Restomatix connects to your main channels, website, Google, Maps, and, where technically possible, to the tools you already use. In the demo we check your specific integrations and tell you clearly what is available.

Are my data and my customers' data safe?

We process data in compliance with the GDPR. Your customer records and history stay yours and under your control. You can manage your team's access and permissions, so everyone sees only what they need.

Which countries is Restomatix available in?

Restomatix is live in five European countries. If you have several sites or operate in more than one market, in the demo we check coverage and how to configure the system for your situation.

What support do I get after getting started?

We don't leave you on your own after launch: initial training, help with everyday tasks and a point of contact to write to when you need it. The aim is for the system to work for you, not for you to work for the system.
